The English Language

It has been brought to my attention that I (Rich) have used some words that are less than acceptable in the English Language in my last post. This reminds me that I am English and have enough critics from the mother land keeping track of our (my) work usage.

I can't be held responsible if my inherited intellect is further established than those of the etymologists that govern our language. There are those who lead and those who follow.

It seems that my critics knew instantly what the word "parented" is intended to mean in the context below leading me to believe that there is not much point to perfect wordsmithing (not sure if wordsmithing is a word).

In the future I will include and (^) after all new words that will open an email link for readers to contact me for meaning.

Such as, "I hope you appreciate the wordsmithiness(^) of this email."

Axel's First Solo

There was a great video of Brodie jammin on the drums at Santa Cruz Rehearsal Studios on Facebook a few weeks ago (for those who don't know Brodie, he currently resides in Santa Cruz and is parented by Jen and Paul).

Now it looks like Axel would like to be the Bill Kreutzmann to Brody's Micky Hart. I know Grateful Dead references are a bit out of character for me but I don't know the names of the Almond Brothers drummers and can't think of any other double drummer bands at the moment.

Notice the roll thrown in, this kid has chops. And, the discovery of the bass drum pedal.

Then Axel wanted to get in the studio and start laying down some tracks.

Old News, New Crowd

A few weeks ago we started our new commuting method here in the Fort.

Axel seems to like it quite a bit.

We have only had one ride in the rain and a small hand full of meltdowns.

The Cat's Away...

Claudia just left for a conference in Seattle. What will we do with all this testosterone in the house?

We started before Claudia left with a trip to the New West Fest downtown where Axel was immediately drawn to the most important part of the festivities...


Let's see what other trouble we can get into today.

The Official Re-Launch of the Boot Blog

Now that we are somewhat settled in Colorado, we are going to bring back the Boot family blog.

I want to introduce you to two people...

#1 - Captain Safety

Captain safety feels the need to take all bike helmets with him wherever he goes.

#2 - Steven Farley Boot

Steve (or Farley as we call him) is in the process of joining the family. He was adopted by the Grabowskis in Evergreen and made his way to us. He is a nice little guy that Axel seems to be growing attached to.
